Imagine Dragons - Radioactive

Sometimes you hear a song and can't get it out of your head for days. That's what happened to me when I heard 'Radioactive' by Imagine Dragons. The song just does not leave my head. I do recommend their whole album. I think I've found my new favorite band!

Woodkid - Ghost Lights

One of my friends posted an Absolut vodka commercial on Facebook and this song was playing in the background. Fell in love with it straight away. And the more I listen to Woodkid, the more he blows me away. Great melodies, but above all the thing that has me hooked is the rhythm. Check it out!

Westlife - I'll See You Again

There are some songs that remind you of happy times. There are some songs that help you get over some hard times. This was the song for the latter option a few years back when I lost a loved one just about this time and again a year after that when another close family member left us. I just feel that this is the right time to post it. And it is a beautiful song after all! I'm sure I'll see you again...

Kodaline - High Hopes

Kodaline is again one of those not-yet-so-well-known-but-hopefully-will-make-it-big bands. They have put out a few EP and just recently a new album called 'In a Perfect World'. For me it was love at first sight (read: hearing). This song 'High Hopes' is beautiful masterpiece. Check it out!

Gabrielle Alpin & Bastille - Dreams

I'm still deeply in love with Bastille. This will not end. And I do love all the different covers I can find on YouTube by Bastille. 'Dreams' is a perfect song to get lost to when the autumn is coming. Just get a big cup of tea, good book, watch the rain outside and listen to this song.

Avicii - Wake Me Up

Two months of silence. I am sorry. This summer has been a life changing one, so a few things have lost my attention. This blog being one of them. I will try to improve myself. Now back to music. 

I think for a lot of people 'Wake Me Up' is the song of this summer. For me it definitely is so. I cannot say that I was a big fan from beginning, but by now I connect so many people, places and happenings to it, so I can't help but love it. So wake me up when it's all over...

Green Day - Oh Love

Yesterday I had the awesome opportunity to see Green Day live (we'll get to do that also next week at RW). Anyway, these guys are just too cool. I do not know how they can be so constantly energetic throughout at 2.5h show. Awesome, just awesome!

P.S. Billy Talent was one of the warm-ups and damn, they're cool!

I love this song. The words are really about giving your all to someone. And this is a beautiful performance of the song. The song is playing, rain is falling behind my window. This is mesmerizing! 

Frankie Animal - Loveless Man

It's about time to feature something from Estonia here again. There is a very young band called Frankie Animal. This is their first video. I've seen them perform live twice and I do have to say that they have impressed me both times. So, please enjoy the lovely song of 'Loveless Man'.

Jimmy Eat World - I Will Steal You Back

Spotify is extremely smart. I've always thought that way. Now I'm even more convinced as for a week or so it has kept recommending me the new album by Jimmy Eat World. I don't know why I didn't start listening to it straight away, but I'm really glad I finally did. The new album is good. Should definitely get back to their old stuff once again. Anyway, enjoy!

Miles Kane - Don't Forget Who You Are

Miles Kane has just released his second album called "Don't Forget Who You Are". Here is the title track. Compared to his previous album (which was really-really good), this one is so much better. It feels like a whole package. Check it out! I highly recommend!

Lana del Rey - Young and Beautiful

Although I wasn't that impressed by the Great Gatsby movie (I'm not saying that I didn't like it, I was just expecting something a bit different and for me it was too long), I was thoroughly impressed by the soundtrack. I didn't believe before that Jay-Z and Jack White could fit into the 20s that well. And then there's Lana del Rey. She has some otherworldly quality to her voice and her songs. 'Young and beautiful' is mesmerizing! 

Pendulum - Propane Nightmares

I discovered that when you're pulling an all-nighter on a thesis you need music that is not your usual cup of tea. Pendulum definitely isn't mine. After listening to them about 12 hours straight, now they are. I don't know why I can concentrate better with this kind of music, but I think it's a perfect kick-starter. Enjoy your Monday!

Thirty Seconds to Mars - Conquistador

It's been way too long since the last post, I know. I'll be better in the future. Anyway, one of my all time favorite bands - Thirty Seconds to Mars - will come out with an album tomorrow. I know there are a lot of people who do not like them, but frankly, I don't give a damn. The song below is one from the new album. I can definitely see it as a huge festival song. I'm pretty sure I'll get to experience that in about 1.5 months in Rock Werchter!

Biffy Clyro - God and Satan

The more I listen to Biffy Clyro, the better they get. In addition to awesome songs I just love how you can hear Simon's accent when singing. So let's put Biffy on and start the new week with good mood!

Dashboard Confessional - Stolen

It's always good to remember old favorites. In the Rock Werchter list this year is a band called Twin Forks. Hadn't heard anything about them, but liked from the first song. So today I discovered that the lead singer is from Dashboard Confessional. I used to listen to their album 'Dusk and Summer' a lot about 5-6 years ago and it's a good place to visit back. Here below is one of my favorite tracks 'Stolen'.

Bastille - Oblivion

My current obsession is a band called Bastille. I have posted their song 'Pompeii' before (which is above awesome). Currently I'm just in love with 'Oblivion'. I think I've listened to it some 50 times in the last very few days. It's a masterpiece. Love Dan's voice. And again, their on the line-up for Rock Werchter (thank you so much for introducing Bastille to me, I don't know how I lived before listening to them). 'Oblivion' just takes you away. Press play, close your eyes and sink in!

Stereophonics - Graffiti on the Train

Stereophonics were one of the last acts to be added to this year's Rock Werchter line-up (I think I can't over emphasize how much I'm looking forward to the festival). Anyway, back to the band. To my surprised I had never heard much about Stereophonics before. Shame on me! After listening through their albums, they're on the definite must-see list for the festival. Check out their latest video for single 'Graffiti on the Train' below!

Vintage Trouble - Blues Hand Me Down

This is not my usual cup of tea. I do enjoy a bit more bluesy sound from time to time, but not my usual playlist. Nevertheless, I do think Vintage Trouble is worth the introduction!

Ewert and the Two Dragons - Good Man Down

I seriously do not know who it has taken me so long to post this artist here before. Ewert and the Two Dragons is a band from Estonia. I think I wouldn't be lying if I would say that they are one of the best bands ever come out of my country! Their sound could be compared a bit to Mumford&Sons and luckily they are finally getting the recognition that they deserve across Europe and also in America. Just check them out! Both of their albums are available on Spotify and you can find a ton of videos on YouTube. You won't regret it!

Xander Rawlins - We See You

I love it when I see a song shared on Facebook and it helps me to discover something I like. This was the case with Xander Rawlins. I think this song called "We See You" is an awesome good-mood-song. I'm really looking forward to the whole album being released. Really sounds like my cup of tea!

The Temper Trap - Drum Song

The Temper Trap is a band that I managed to see perform live at last year's Rock Werchter. They were really-really cool. Definitely left a deeper impression performing live than just listening. Today I decided to share one song from them that actually doesn't have any singing. It's just too cool even without it. I completely remember seeing it live and it was the most awesome thing ever. Just takes you away!

Tenfold Rabbit - Balance of Water and Stone

I think it's about time that I introduce here someone from Estonia again. The band Tenfold Rabbit consists of young Estonian guys and they make great music. As I've seen them perform live multiple times can definitely say that they sound as good live. Enjoy their entry to this year's competition of Estonian Song called 'Balance of Water and Stone' below. The Smiths - Asleep

A few days ago I watched the movie 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'. In addition to many quotes and thoughts from the movie, another thing that kept haunting me was the music. For example like this song by the Smiths. I do have to say that I've never listened to the Smiths. Now I have a feeling that I really should. This song... I just don't have words. It's so sad, but so calming at the same time. Can't wrap my head around it. Anyway, listen and let me know what you think! What other songs of the Smiths would you recommend for a novice in their creation like me?

Mads Langer - The River Has Run Wild

The TV show called The Vampire Diaries has most probably one of the best soundtracks that a TV show has ever had (at least in my opinion). They have featured everything from Passenger, Editors, Ed Sheeran, Civil Twilight, The Vaccines and so many more from my favorites. This beautiful piece of music is also discovered from the soundtrack. It's beautiful. Seriously, whoever puts together the soundtrack for the show deserves a medal or a trophy or just any prize possible. Enjoy this beautifulness! 

Charlie Winston - In Your Hands

I discovered Charlie Winston some time ago when a friend shared the song "I love her smile". The more I listened to him the more I liked it. The below song "In Your Hands" sounds really upbeat and happy, but when you listen to the lyrics a bit deeper you see what it's actually about. I feel that's quite often the case with Charlie. Anyway, I think he's one extremely talented guy with awesome music. Definitely need to check him out!

Paramore - Still into You

Paramore just released their new album and this is the first track of the album. I do have to say that the video is a bit quirky, but not in a bad way. Anyway, I do like the new album and I think this song is just such a good-mood song! So perfect for Friday morning to survive the last workday of the week! Enjoy!

Today I'm rediscovering a number of my old favorites. One that's on my list is Thirteen Senses. I discovered this band I think in 2011 and fell in love with this song. I don't know how, but it has gotten lost in my regular playlist and I was happy to find it again. Enjoy!

Me and My Drummer - You're a Runner!

Tallinn Music Week  continued in Rock Cafe on Saturday night. I really loved a band called Me and My Drummer from Germany. It was really just a girl and a drummer. Considering that not all their instruments arrived here and they had to make a stripped down version of their show, I can't imagine how powerful they are in full force. The strip downed version already blew me away. Lead singers voice was wonderful. Listen below!

Rangleklods - Young and Dumb

Tallinn Music Week is an annual music festival taking place in Tallinn, Estonia. More info http://tmw.ee/. This year I will visit two concert events - Friday in Von Krahl and Saturday night in Rock Cafe. Both nights are built up in the same way - there are number of artists and 2 concert halls as soon as one artists finishes their 30 minute set in one hall, next artists starts in the next one. So it's about 5-6 hours of pure musical awesomeness.

I do have to say that the first night in Von Krahl was really awesome. I just loved that I was really impressed by the artists I had never heard of but who had been chosen to the line-up. In addition to obviously being impressed by artists I already knew. First one I would like to introduce is Rangleklods from Denmark. Their set in Von Krahl was amazing. Their voices just melted together with a bit of electronic sounds and the light effects just put the whole show together. They are definitely not my usual cup of tea, but I will for sure listen to them again. This is how DJ'ing and amazing vocals together is done right! Biffy Clyro - Biblical

I'm simply obsessed with this song. Yes, I know I have shared Biffy before, but 'Opposities' is just such an amazing album. I couldn't share it too much. And 'Biblical' is, well, awesome! Just listen to it! Then listen to it again. And again. And then a few times more!

alt-J - Something Good

The name of the song does not lie - this is 'something good'! Alt-J is another great discovery. I think I'm not the best critic to music as I just get excited about everything really easily and I just love so many different kinds of music. Nevertheless, don't underestimate the awesome sound of alt-J because of that. They are really good!

Bastille - Pompeii

Another great discovery thanks to RW'13 line-up. I had heard this song number of time on the radio in the morning and kept wondering what it is, but kept forgetting to look it up. For my happiness RW'13 just announced Bastille as an addition to their line-up and as soon as I started listening to their album this song popped up. And I'm in love! The perfect good-mood song! The beat and the backtrack are awesome! Happy Tuesday!

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

Here's another awesome artist who is in the line-up for Rock Werchter'13. I seriously think that I don't need to say anything else. Kings of Leon just rocks. That's common knowledge! Happy Monday!

30 Seconds to Mars - Up in the Air

I'm so glad to see that 30 Seconds to Mars is back. I've posted a song by them before and I still love them. The song below is the first single of their new album out in May. I would say so far so good. I do love when bands develop and change their sound, but at the same time still sound the same. I think that's what 30STM has done. Enjoy!

Lostprophets - Last Train Home

I have very mixed feelings towards Lostprophets - I do love their music but the allegations made towards the lead singer a few months ago concerning his plot to rape a baby and other offences turn my stomach upside down. Hurts' newest album 'Excile' was released a very short time ago and considering it took almost 3 years to make it, it was long overdo. I do have to say that the album delivers. Matthew Barber - Revolution of the Sun

I love Spotify. Completely adore it for so many reasons. One of the main ones is that Spotify Radio helps me find new artists based on what I normally listen to and what I like. That's also how I just discovered Matthew Barber. I am speechless. This guys is just so good. The songs are beautiful. You have to (did I say HAVE TO) listen to him. Amazing!

I don't remember how I ever discovered One Less Reason. I do have to say that I haven't been a loyal listener and only am a fan of a few songs. Hadley Fraser - Take Me Away

I've spent the morning being mesmerized by the voice of Hadley Fraser. Again. Just can't stop listening to him. And thanks to him I just now also discovered the music of Alan Scott. To a musical lover like me - this guys is a genius! The songs he has written and had them perform by various musical singers is exquisite.

3 Doors Down - One Light

I think it doesn't matter what 3 Doors Down does, I would still like it. I think with some bands it's good that even through the years they have stayed with the same style which is definitely the case for 3DD. But when it's good, why mess with it, right? So please behold their latest video!

If you put two of my favorites together you get this perfection. I'm seriously in lack for words. This might be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. Amazing!

Example - Perfect Replacement

Something a bit different to the middle of the week. Example just gets you with his voice. It has the depth and the music has the energy. Although again this isn't my usual cup of tea from time to time it's good to put Example on and enjoy the beat. Happy Wednesday!

The Black Keys - Lonely Boy

I know that the Black Keys won a Grammy for their album, but I do not completely fathom why. Yes, there are good track on the album, but I think there are way better albums out last year. I'm not saying that the Black Keys are not good, they are very good, I've just heard better. Nevertheless, the song 'Lonely Boy' is super catchy.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers - This Time

"I believe in music... The way that some people believe in fairy tales" has been one of my favorite quotes for a while. Finally I managed to watch the movie where it is from. The movie is called August Rush and I seriously recommend it. It's filled with a great story and even better music ranging from classical to beautiful rock music. I think it's definitely going on replay for me. Just can't get it out of my head.

Elephants From Neptune - Make It Happen (Seducifer)

I think it's about time I would feature something from Estonia here and I think Elephants from Neptune are a great way to start. For me they really rocketed to my music list after I saw them warming up Red Hot Chili Peppers and they rocked my socks off. After that I think I've seen them perform live about 4 times and every time has been as good as the previous or even better. This video is for their latest single 'Make It Happen'! Check it out!

Editors - No Sound But The Wind (Live at Rock Werchter 2010)

This was one of the first videos that I ever saw from Rock Werchter. Ever. And although I was sold on going to the festival before, after this it was certain. Lucky for me Editors also took the stage in 2012 and I do have to say hearing this song with tens of thousands of people at night in front of the main stage was magical. And they will be there again this year. Happy Monday!

Band Of Horses - No One's Gonna Love You

I just love that thanks to the line-up of Rock Werchter last year as well as this year I have discovered and am still discovering so many great artists and great songs. I have heard about Band of Horses before, but I have never really listened to them. M added them to her RW playlist before me and the comment that they're 'my cup of tea' is definitely correct. Easy listening with good melody and a nice voice. I do like a lot! 

Biffy Clyro - Black Chandelier

I have no words to describe Biffy Clyro. I think it was love at the first notes that I heard them and now I will also get to see them this summer at Rock Werchter. Can you say excited? And this morning 'Black Chanelier' was the first song I heard on the radio. Seriously, just love them. Enjoy!

Asaf Avidan - Reckoning Song (One Day)

I just have to share my biggest surprise of the day: first of all, I was completely sure that this is sung by an old woman and secondly, I couldn't imagine that I would love the original this much. In my opinion, the remix version really took so much out of this song. This version is just so good and different. Different in a good way. I'm seriously shocked.

P.S. Rock Werchter announced more names to their line-up today. Let's just put it this way - in my head I'm still doing a happy dance. In addition to Green Day, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Script and oh so many more, today's best additions were BEN HOWARDS (!!!!), Biffy Clyro, The Lumineers, James Blake. I think I couldn't be happier right now. I think only if Linkin Park would appear in the line-up. 

Tobias Fröberg - When We Go To War

I just heard this song for the first time last week and I think it's hauntingly beautiful. The video is... hmmm... let's say interesting. Again I don't know much about Tobias Fröberg, but based on this song - he's good. And a bit different. Should go and listen a bit more of him. Happy Wednesday!

Red Hot Chili Peppers are awesome. Although they didn't play this song when I saw them live last year (at neither times), they still rock. Seeing them on stage really had me surprised as let's be honest - they're not as young as they used to, but damn, can they rock a crowd. Happy Monday!

Ed Sheeran - Lego House

Yesterday night I discovered that I still haven't posted anything by Ed Sheeran. I was shocked. I don't know why, but I didn't start listening to him until I found out that he was in the line of for Rock Werchter last year. From there it was pure love. I don't even know how many times I have listened to his album, but he's amazing. For the live performance I have no words. He was alone on the stage. For an hour. Just with his guitar and loop pedal. And controlled the audience from the very first notes. 

Again it was very hard for me to choose the song to post as all are just so good. I decided to go with 'Lego House' just because I think this video is hilarious as they're really playing out the comparison of Rubert and Ed.

The Script - Six Degrees Of Separation

I'm in love with the Script's 3rd album called simply #3. Although there are a few songs from it that I actually like more they unfortunately don't have official videos out yet. Nevertheless 'Six Degrees Of Separation' is a great song. I can't imagine how bad the break-up had to be to write so many great songs about it. I do like the Script a lot. Enjoy!

Lifehouse - Storm (Live)

Lifehouse is another band that is on and off my playlist for years now. Their music is pretty and perfect with a good book and a cup of tea. In the general lists there are a few true diamonds that I have loved since hearing them for the first time. On top of my head are 'Trying', 'Everything' and of course 'Storm'. I think the last one is hands down one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my life. Also one of the saddest songs ever. Live performance makes it just better. Listen now!

Greg Holden - The Lost Boy

I think by now you have figured out what kind of music I like the most. Greg Holden is a perfect example. I discovered him quite randomly I think about 2 years ago. From that time I've been following his music. It is a bit sad that he is not more well known as he truly is amazing. At least some exposure came when last year's American Idol winner Phillip Phillips sang a song called 'Home' written by Greg. I do have to say that to me the song sounds better with Greg's a bit rusty voice but Phillip did a good job. In general Greg's music is very melodic with beautiful written lyrics and a strong guitar sounds. Exactly my cup of tea when I'm in the mood for something on the down-low. 

Some of Greg's songs have been used in various TV shows in US, so hopefully the exposure will continue. This following song was also feature in an episode of Sons of Anarchy. I personally haven't seen the series, but must be good if it uses great music. Enjoy your Monday with Greg and definitely check out his other work!

Sometimes it makes me really happy and sometimes it makes me really sad. It can't be explained. That is just how it makes me feel. Some songs are like that. 

Nevertheless, I think it's a song written by a genius and John Mayer is definitely a genius. He's talent when it comes to handling the guitar and writing lyrics is amazing. Although I'm not the biggest fan of his latest album as I think it is lacking in depth a lot, but his previous work makes up for it. Especially 'Continuum'. If you haven't listened to that album yet, then do it. Now! The lyrics, the melodies. No words.

Let's get back to important things. 'Slow Dancing...' is a beautiful song with a strong message. It can't have been an easy song to be written. Just listen to the lyrics. You'll understand what I mean. And above all, once again Mayer proves how well he can handle his guitar.

blink-182 - I Miss You

As it's a quiet Saturday night I decided to with something mellow from Blink-182. I still remember the time when this song was new. It was good then and it's great now. Although the lyrics can be quite obscure from time to time, it just says a lot. Maybe it's just me? 

In addition Blink-182 just rocks. I had the pleasure to see them live last year at RW and considering they're not longer young boys, it was not visible when they got to the mood and gave one hell of a show.
